Brimona is a place to share, discuss and build communities. These guidelines apply to everything you post here: posts, articles, links, media, comments, ratings and the communities you create or run. By using Brimona you agree to follow them, along with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Be respectful
- Don't harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone, and don't encourage others to do it.
- Don't attack people for their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any similar trait.
- Don't threaten, glorify or encourage violence against anyone, including yourself.
- Don't share someone's private information, such as their address, phone number or documents, without their permission.
Content that is not allowed
You must not post, upload, share or link to content that:
- belongs to someone else and you have no right to share;
- is obscene or pornographic, invades another person's privacy (including their bodily privacy), or harasses or insults anyone on the basis of gender;
- sexually exploits children in any way, or is otherwise harmful to children;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- is deliberately false, misleading or misinformation, or that you know is untrue;
- impersonates another person or organisation, or misleads people about where it came from;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries, or public order, or incites any offence;
- contains viruses, malware or any code meant to disrupt, damage or take over a computer or service;
- promotes racial or ethnic hatred, money laundering or gambling, or encourages anything illegal;
- breaks any law that is in force.
Tag sensitive content
Mark a post NSFW if it contains nudity, sexual themes or graphic material that is allowed here, and mark it a spoiler if it gives away a plot or an ending. NSFW posts are hidden from people who are not signed in and stay blurred for members until they choose to view them. In an NSFW community, every post is tagged NSFW automatically. Sexual content posted without the tag will be removed.
No spam or manipulation
- Don't post the same content over and over, or flood posts and communities with links.
- Don't use more than one account to dodge a ban or a mute, or to make something look more popular than it is.
- Don't buy, sell or trade votes, ratings, followers or accounts.
- New accounts are checked more closely: repeated posts are refused, and links posted in an account's first day are flagged for a moderator to review.
Community rules
Groups and channels can set their own rules on top of these guidelines. When you post in a community, follow its rules as well. A community's rules can be stricter than ours, but never looser: these guidelines always apply. If you run a community, you are expected to moderate it in line with them.
Reporting content
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, use Report on the post or comment. You can choose a reason: spam, harassment, hate, violence, sexual content not tagged, illegal, or other. In a community, its own rules are listed first. A report on something posted in a community goes to that community's moderators. Reports of illegal content, and reports about an account, go straight to the Brimona team. We don't tell the person you report who reported them.
For a complaint about content or about these guidelines, including a copyright claim, you can also write to our Grievance Officer. Their contact details and the complaint process are on our Contact page.
What happens when a rule is broken
Depending on how serious it is, and whether it has happened before, we or a community's moderators may:
- remove the post or comment;
- mute you in a community or across Brimona, so you can't post, comment or edit for a time or for good;
- ban you from a community or from Brimona, for a time or for good;
- suspend or close your Brimona account.
We may also keep information and share it with the authorities when the law requires it. If you think we got a decision wrong, contact our Grievance Officer.
Changes to these guidelines
We may update these guidelines from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date below, and we'll let you know about significant changes. If you keep using Brimona after an update, you accept the new guidelines.
